Some States Are Finally Understanding the Importance of Police – So Why Doesn’t Joe Biden?

Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts discusses how some states are improving for the better, but there’s a ways to go.

In the face of the “defund the police” campaign that has left departments – as well as the country – in danger, it appears some states are finally understanding the importance of police.

According to this report from The Washington Post, several states are pushing for initiatives to restrict police less, as well as provide them funding.

For example, Florida is working on a bill that would do away with civilian-run police review boards, giving them effective control again. Louisiana legislators have approved a law that makes it more difficult to sue police officers. And in both Portland and Los Angeles, police funding has been restored, after many arguments. San Francisco and New York are also looking into safety measures, but still have work to do.

And yet, in spite of these changes, Biden is pleading ignorance instead of pushing forward on his “fund the police” comments from years prior. He noted how the country had seen a sharp decrease in the national murder rate, and a national decline in violent crime “to one of the lowest levels in more than 50 years.” Of course, he makes these comments in the midst of a tremendous migrant crisis, and fails to see the otherwise increasing criminal numbers in various states.

Joining us now to discuss this further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. His expertise in all things law and order make him a good subject to discuss this matter. Welcome, Mr. Letts!

  1. Are you concerned that President Biden seemed to deflect crime numbers in the U.S.? Or, for that matter, discussing anything to do with providing police funding?
  2. What do you think about his statements about low murder rate and decline in violent crime? Could he just be blowing smoke to make himself look good?
  3. What do you think about the progress that has been made in certain states to try and help police where needed? What states, do you believe, still need to make progress on this?
  4. Could Biden possibly push for a police funding bill in an effort to save his Presidential campaign? Or will he continue to stick to his guns and note that crime isn’t bad right now?
  5. Why are some Democratic leaders still believing that “defund the police” is still the right answer? Especially with criminal activity on the rise?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers across a number of programs. Tell us more about it.
  7. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers?
    1. You can visit our official InVest USA website, and learn more on the official Invest USA Twitter account. You can also learn about my new initiative at RestoringJustice.US, where we discuss lawful issues surrounding citizens of the United States.
