Alleged illegal immigrant arrested after getting 11-year-old girl he met on Facebook pregnant | Law Enforcement Today

NASHVILLE, TN - Authorities with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) have confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been arrested after a 12-year-old he allegedly met on Facebook gave birth earlier this year.  He also has an immigration detainer hold.

According to reports, on Friday, April 11th, Raymundo Juan Reyes Cornelio was arrested and charged for the rape of a child after the girl, who was 11-years-old at the time, gave birth to a baby boy on February 14th. Police said Cornelio was taken into custody by Youth Services detectives. The investigation began shortly after the baby's birth.

MNPD said, "The girl, who is now age 12, told detectives that she had one sexual encounter with a man in May of 2024. She said she met the individual through Facebook. From detail provided by the girl, a search warrant was executed on the suspect's Facebook account, which produced his name and telephone number."

Police explained that detectives had "learned that Cornelio was stopped for a window tint violation" by an officer on March 1st. He was "issued a state misdemeanor citation for driving without a license. The citations contained his Davidson County address."

Police said that during an interview with a detective on April 11th, Cornelio had "admitted to the sexual encounter with the girl when he was 18." MNDP said, "He said he believed she was age 14 when it occurred." Cornelio is being held in the Downtown Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.

In a separate incident, a man was taken into custody by Bexar County Sheriff's deputies for allegedly sexually assaulting a high school student. According to KENS5, officials are now asking for any other victims that may be out there to come forward. Deputies arrested 21-year-old Jorge Lujan on Wednesday, April 9th.

Investigators discovered that Lujan had repeatedly victimized the young victim and found text message conversations that revealed he was continuously pressuring the victim.

Investigators with Child Safe obtained an arrest warrant and found Lujan in the 600 block of Duke Road in far South Bexar County. Deputies said he did not cooperate with them when they were taking him into custody. He was booked on a charge of sexual assault of a child, which is a second-degree felony. His bond has been set at $100,000.

In Griswold, Connecticut, state police said that a man was arrested on Sunday, April 13th, for allegedly having inappropriate physical contact with local children. According to WTNH, 54-year-old Scott Glen Roy has been charged with four counts of risk of injury to a child, first-degree sexual assault, and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in December of 2024, after allegations of his behavior were reported. Roy was released from custody on a $200,000 court-set bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on April 24th.
