This Judge Is Using Racial Bias and “Wokeness” In His Decision Making – And It’s a Bad Look

The law enforcement veteran discusses why Washington, D.C. Judge Lloyd U. Nolan should be the subject of an investigation.

Whenever personal bias is used over the course of someone’s job, it can easily affect it. And this is especially true when it comes to jobs based around the law.

Per this report from Law Enforcement Today, Washington, D.C. Magistrate Judge Lloyd U. Nolan has become the subject of outrage, after releasing a young shooting subject seemingly over the color of his skin.

Nolan recently handled the case of 18-year old Amonte Moody, who was arrested for brandishing an AR-15 and firing it at people within his neighborhood. That sort of crime deserves a thorough investigation. However, Nolan dismissed Moody with a mere slap on the wrists – house arrest and ankle monitoring.

Meanwhile, years prior, Nolan overlooked the case of 44-year old Donald Craighead in Oceanside, who was arrested for having weapons in his pick-up while displaying white supremacist symbols. Even though Craighead performed no lethal action towards anyone, Nolan ordered him held without bail.

What’s worse, Nolan’s online activity clearly shows his bias. He shows “signs of progressive activism” in his posts, and even brags about how “woke” he is. On top of that, he promoted Black Lives Matter and even donated to a fundraiser with ties to billionaire George Soros.

All this does bring quite a bit into question – especially when a young man who fired a weapon at people gets off with barely any sort of punishment. Should this call for an investigation?

Joining us now to discuss this further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts is President, Founder and CEO of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships.

His expertise in all things law and order make him a great subject for this interview. Welcome, Michael.

Q&A:

  1. Based on the evidence provided in this report, is Nolan clearly letting personal bias affect how he does his job in court?
  2. Do you think it’s surprising – and maybe even upsetting – how he let an armed teen “off the hook” based on his skin color?
  3. Those with law jobs are trained not to treat matters like this with personal bias. Why do you think some people still let it affect them?
  4. What should happen to Nolan based on this information? Should he be properly investigated?
  5. What would your statement be to someone who believes that all police are “biased” against certain types, like black people and Hispanics?
  6. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
