WASHINGTON, DC- Ever since he was announced as President Trump’s pick to lead the Defense Department, Pete Hegseth has had a bullseye on his back. Hegseth was subjected to character assassination from Democrats suddenly concerned about “excessive drinking,” as though they themselves were as pure as the driven snow.
Despite Hegseth’s distinguished military history, including two Bronze medals and deployments to the Middle East, Democrats and other detractors dismissed him as merely a “Fox News weekend host.” What Hegseth wasn’t was a DC insider or a defense contractor mole. He was brought on board to restore the Pentagon to its primary mission–breaking things and killing people, as the late, great Rush Limbaugh used to say. And, by all accounts, Hegseth is doing exactly that.
The military branches, which only eight months ago were suffering from a recruiting shortfall across the various branches due to the military’s focus on woke nonsense, have seen a surge in recruiting numbers under Hegseth’s leadership.
Democrats, however, know they cannot get to President Trump as long as Republicans control Congress, so they’ve set their sights on low-hanging fruit–Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Revolver News writes that Trump didn’t pick Hegseth out of thin air. As a Washington outsider, Hegseth isn’t concerned with the DC social circuit. During his time on Fox & Friends Weekend, Hegseth was an unabashed supporter of the military and spoke of the need for the military to return to what it’s supposed to be doing–warfighting. He realized that the world is a dangerous place and our military needs to be the best fighting force we can deploy.
Hegseth, Revolver writes, puts America first, rejects endless wars (which angers the military/industrial complex), and, as mentioned above, axed the woke nonsense that made our military a laughingstock.
Hegseth has begun to undo the damage done to the military by the Biden administration and failed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who kowtowed to the whims of the woke progressive mob. While commercials advertising the military during the Biden administration were filled with woke platitudes to the LGBTQ community, they now feature warriors doing what warriors do.
No more “rainbow patches, pronoun workshops, drag shows on bases” that were a feature of Lloyd Austin’s Pentagon. No pride flags flying above military outposts. Military facilities that had their names changed to abide with progressive obsessions with race have, in some cases, been changed back, Fort Bragg being an example.
You have no doubt heard about the movie “The Empire Strikes Back,” where the evil Empire hits back at the Rebel Alliance after they destroyed the first Death Star. Now, the evil empire on the left, still smarting from their November election smackdown, is striking back, with Hegseth being a tantalizing target. If they can take Hegseth out, it is reasonable to assume their next target will be Tulsi Gabbard, RFK Jr., or Pam Bondi. That is why President Trump must resist any inclination to relieve Hegseth.
One thing that is clear–there is a coordinated effort among leftist politicians, their complicit media, and their hired street thugs to take out Hegseth.
“You can feel it in the media leaks, the DC whispers, and the sudden anonymous sources telling tales of ‘chaos,” Revolver News wrote. “This isn’t about performance. It’s about power. And Hegseth, more than anyone else in the building, threatens the entire establishment war racket.”
Unlike Austin, Hegseth cannot be controlled by the DC military complex and warmongers in Congress. The timing of recent “bombshell” revelations about tensions inside the Pentagon strangely came after Hegseth took part in convincing Israel to hold off on bombing Iran to prevent them from acquiring nuclear weapons. The warmongers and defense contractor lobbyists inside the beltway don’t like that.
As Revolver News notes, the above “is the Uniparty playbook 101: When they can’t control someone, they try to destroy them with stories of ‘chaos,’ ‘disruption,’ and ‘instability.’” This is right out of Rules for Radicals–create a crisis and use that as an excuse to purge your political enemies.
The latest attempted hit job on Hegseth comes from a former Pentagon spokesman, John Ullyot, who ran to far-left Politico to publish a hit piece on Hegseth. He alleged the Pentagon is in “total chaos” under Hegseth’s leadership. He further expanded that Hegseth may be on his way out in his role, an allegation dismissed by President Trump, who again expressed his complete support for his Defense Secretary.

John Ullyot, who until last week was chief Pentagon spokesman, has written a piece in Politico in which he says the Pentagon is in “total chaos” and that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is unlikely to remain in his role.

Ulyot apparently was at one time tied to the Trump orbit, however Donald Trump Jr. said in a post on X that is no longer the case, noting that he’s been working “his ass off to subvert my father’s agenda.”
This guy is not America First. I’ve been hearing for years that he works his ass off to subvert my father’s agenda. That ends today. He’s officially exiled from our movement. https://t.co/C2JnnIPt0y

There is also some disagreement about the circumstances under which Ulyot left the Pentagon. He said he resigned; the Pentagon said he was asked to leave. Sour grapes? Sure sounds that way.
The Democrat Party’s official X account joined the fray, posing that Hegseth “needs to go.”
.@PeteHegseth needs to go.

Despite the loons circling Hegseth like rabid wolves, President Trump stands behind him. The DOD Rapid Response X account writes, ”The President stands strongly behind @SecDef, who is doing a phenomenal job leading the Pentagon. This is what happens when the ENTIRE Pentagon is working against you and against the MONUMENTAL change that you are trying to implement.”

Democrats, who call Trump “Hitler” and a “Nazi” are apoplectic that they lost the mantles of power in the last election and are doing everything they can to distract the American people from the good work being done by the administration, Hegseth specifically. As influencer Robby Starbuck wrote on X: “Remember this: Democrat desperation to get rid of a Trump pick is directly correlated to how effective they are. Best Sec Def we could ask for!”
There is a highly orchestrated campaign afoot to take down Pete Hegseth. Everyone needs to have his back and support him right now.

Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point, USA, is on to the Democrats' game:
When they come after Pete Hegseth, just remember everything they DON'T want to talk about...
— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) April 21, 2025
Recruiting is up.
Morale is up.
Standards are up.
Efficiency is up.
America's influence is up.
And most importantly, lethality is up.
What's down? Only the influence of neocons and…
If the Democrats are not successful in getting Hegseth kicked to the curb, it will be only a matter of days, if not hours, before they set their sights on someone else.
Not one to back down, Secretary Hegseth replied to the Democrat Party's demand he step down:
.@PeteHegseth needs to go.
— Democrats (@TheDemocrats) April 21, 2025
And know this–if they somehow regain control of the House in 2026, within those same days if not hours, they will embark on a campaign to again engage in endless investigations of President Trump and everyone in his orbit. Because for Democrats, power corrupts. We’ve seen that act before.
