Murder of Border Patrol agent in Vermont linked to 'antifascist trans terror cult' | Law Enforcement Today

LYNDONVILLE, VT - New reporting on Thursday revealed that the violent murder of a US Border Patrol agent near the border with Canada is now believed to be connected to a string of killings associated with “Zizian,” a group described as a radical leftist transgender vegan cult.

Vermont Border Patrol Agent David C. Maland, 44, was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Interstate 91 near the town of Coventry on Monday, January 21 approximately 45 minutes south of Montreal, as previously reported by Law Enforcement Today.

According to The Post Millennial Senior Editor Andy Ngo, writing for The New York Post, Agent Maland was shot and killed by Teresa “Milo” Consuelo Youngblut when Youngblut and fellow “Zizian” Felix “Ophelia” Bauckholt, a German national, were pulled over in a routine stop. Youngblut allegedly opened fire on Maland killing him. Bauckholt was then fatally struck by return fire from agents accompanying Maland when he produced a firearm and began to aim at them. Youngblut is now in custody.

According to the Post, law enforcement approached the couple six days prior after staff at a Lyndonville, Vermont motel alerted authorities to them. The staff told officials that they were seen nearby clad in black tactical clothing with a firearm. Speaking with police, the duo claimed to be shopping for property in the area and quickly checked out of the motel, court documents revealed.

The group- known as “Zizians”- are well-educated transgender vegan “rationalists” who allegedly hold “fringe, esoteric ideological beliefs about transhumanism and animal rights.” The firearms used in the incident were connected by investigators with a person of interest in a group of other murders and tied to the cult’s leader Jack “Ziz” LaSota.

The person of interest in the question, identified as Michelle Jacqueline Zajko, a trans nonbinary, is under investigation in connection to the deaths of his parents Rita and Richard Zajko in Pennsylvania.

Reporting via X, Ngo wrote that his reporting “maps out some of the key figures part of the "antifascist" trans terror cult accused of a string of brutal killings across the U.S. One 82-year-old victim set to testify against them in California had his throat slit this month after narrowly surviving a 2022 assassination attempt on his life.” He warned, “Multiple members of the cell are still at large.” Federal prosecutors cited by the Post in a January 27 motion to deny Youngblut bail suggested a connection to the cult. “Her [Youngblut] associations with other individuals suspected of violent acts also warrants caution,” prosecutor Matthew Lasher told the court. “The individual who purchased the firearms the defendant and Bauckholt possessed on January 20, 2025, is a person of interest in a dual-homicide investigation in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.” Zajko also reportedly purchased a plot of land near the location of Maland’s murder but has not been charged as of this report.

The Ngo report also delved into the death of 82-year-old Curtis Lind, who was allegedly attacked by several members of the group, shooting two of his alleged attackers Suri Dao and Alexander “Somni” Leatham. Before he could testify as a witness, Lind was reportedly murdered, allegedly by Maximilian Bentley Snyder, who was married to Youngblut according to a November 2024 marriage application.
