Meet the human smugglers cashing in through guiding Indian illegal aliens across the northern border | Law Enforcement Today

BUFFALO, NY- As the new administration of President Donald Trump takes action to end the epidemic of illegal immigration assailing United States borders, some in the industry of moving criminal aliens into the country are undeterred.

A cottage industry of human smuggers has arisen- specializing in moving mostly Indian illegal aliens across the northern border, according to the New York Post

Some of these smugglers are even so brazen as to openly advertise their services on TikTok- in videos replete with Indian music, price quotes, and pictures of the smugglers and criminal aliens amid the act.

“$4,000 cheapest in market,” one smuggler advertised to prospective customers in a TikTok post.

"Montreal to New York same day entry."

Steve Gruber on X said, "Canadian traffickers are advertising an alleged human smuggling operation for illegals looking to enter the U.S. across the northern border openly on TikTok TikTok traffickers advertise, 'Montreal to New York same day entry" One smuggler even offered to ferry prospective aliens into the United States in communications with the Post- at the price of $4,500 per migrant.

Illegal immigration through the northern border became an increasing focus point during the presidency of Joe Biden, amid an influx of illegal aliens unlike anything in the nation's history. Canada's generous migration rules for citizens of India are thought to have enabled the criminal activity, with critics of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau describing America's northern neighbor as compromised by special interests associated with the South Asian country. Trudeau rolled back policies that allowed the near-unlimited issuance of student visas to Indian nationals last year, a policy some argue came far too late.

Indian migrants made up roughly 25 percent of those apprehended at the northern border during Biden's last year- by far the single largest nationality caught. Illegal immigration at the northern border more than doubled in the first four months of fiscal year 2024.

The TikTok smugglers in question offered to bring migrants from the Canadian cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal to Washington and New York states, offering a voyage that consisted of little more than a two hour car ride and a 25-minute walk through a largely unguarded and undefended section of border.

Illegal immigrant apprehensions at the northern border have declined- but only modestly- since President Donald Trump took office. Customs and Border Protection data suggests monthly averages of 4,500 catches have dropped to 2,900 in the second Trump term.
