Ilhan Omar doubles down on ‘fighting to protect’ Illegal Immigrants | Law Enforcement Today

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) doubled down on her commitment to “to protect immigrant families from mass detention and deportation,” in light of the recent deportations of illegal immigrants enacted by President Donald Trump’s Administration using the words “immigrant” and “illegal immigrant” interchangeably, to obfuscate the crime of illegal immigration.

In a lengthy press conference which has generally gone unmarked by establishment media, Omar referred to Trump’s recent executive orders as “unconstitutional,” and the first 100 days of his presidency as “chaos”.

She also vowed her defense of illegal immigrants despite recent polls from Rasmussen showing 64% of Americans favor deporting Venezuelan gang members, and even more favorable polls for Democrats such as Napolitan News Service finding 65% of those surveyed support the deportation effort, and 39% said they strongly favor it.

During the Wednesday press conference, Omar said, “If they thought the first 100 days of chaos would break us, they were wrong. Because across this country, millions of us are standing up for our human rights and our democracy.

Judges are fighting back to block these unconstitutional executive orders. Here in Congress, we are fighting back every single day. We are fighting to protect immigrant families from mass detention and deportation. We are fighting to prevent horrific cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security. It won't be easy, but we must continue to organize, to speak out and to build a future that reflects our highest ideals.”

Referring to Hamas supporting Visa-holding visitors to the U.S. whose visas were revoked for supporting terrorism, Omar claimed, “Students have been disappeared. Their only crime is daring to demand an end to a genocide,” and characterized the expulsion of Hamas sympathizers as “the behavior of a dictator.”

Omar also targeted billionaire Elon Musk, claiming obtusely that President Trump “handed the federal government over to a billionaire Elon Musk who fired tens of thousands of public servants whose only crime is doing their job,” when ironically, the Department of Government Efficiency specifically targets agencies and personnel who are failing to perform.
