President Donald Trump's "border czar," former Department of Homeland Security official Tom Homan, revealed that illegal border crossings had declined by a whopping 93% in a Sunday interview, according to the Daily Wire.
“We’ve got the numbers this morning. The crossings on the border are down 93%. 93%!” Homan said of the development in the interview with Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures.
“That’s a bigger decrease than under the first Trump administration.”
Homan went on to describe Trump's immigration policies as the imperative in reducing the illegal arrivals.WATCH: Trump Border Czar Tom Homan says that border crossings are down 93%!!

“So, look, I said it, President Trump’s the game-changer," the veteran immigration cop said of the situation.
“No one has had the success he’s had in securing the border. He clearly understands we can’t have strong national security if we don’t have border security. We need to know who’s coming in, what’s coming in, where, and why.”
Homan further cited 5,000 arrests of criminal migrants within the interior of the United States in the first week of Trump's second term as president.
"And as far as the deportation operation, I think we got 5,000 arrested the first week, and a majority of them being criminals.”
More evidence backs up the case of an overwhelming decline in new arrivals since Trump's inauguration.
Deportations have also significantly increased under the Trump administration, with the government moving to expedite removals through various legal and material means. The administration has approved the use of military aircraft for removal operations, a first in the history of American immigration enforcement.
Fox News border correspondent Bill Melugin, a journalist who extensively covered former President Joe Biden's illegal immigration crisis, described the situation at the border as one that would be "unheard of" in the recent past.
Trump has offered a range of policies that could serve an effect of deterring illegal migration, including requiring asylum seekers to await the adjudication of their cases in Mexico under the "Remain in Mexico" policies. Trump has also directed the Department of Homeland Security to detain migrants in the immigration court process, and closing the border to unqualified asylum seekers preemptively.I mean these are just crazy low numbers. Unheard of to see this. Think about the thousands you saw pouring in daily in our live shots in Eagle Pass & RGV in recent years.

They had 46 and 23 yesterday.
I would have trouble finding illegal aliens if I went down there right now. https://t.co/EBUD4zNkYc
Trump also also issued an executive order discontinuing the practice of birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants, a measure facing challenges in the federal court system.
