Michael Letts, founder and CEO of InVestUSA and a 30-year law enforcement veteran, offered a sobering yet hopeful look at current national security challenges, judicial overreach, and rampant corruption inside the federal government in a recent interview on “The Richard Syrett Show.”
Letts, author of Truth, Lies and Control: Finding Hope in an Upside Down World, shared insights on growing concerns surrounding the deportation of illegal immigrants, judicial obstruction, and national enforcement policies.
He pointed to a recent ruling by Judge Boasberg, who questioned the president’s authority under the War Powers Act to deport certain illegal immigrants immediately. Letts emphasized that while some deportations are being challenged in court, many currently underway are lawful follow-ups to long-overdue removal orders from previous cases ignored under the Biden administration.
Beyond immigration policy, Letts turned his attention to rising acts of vandalism targeting Tesla vehicles, which he says are politically motivated attacks on Elon Musk. Under new executive action, these acts are now classified as domestic terrorism—a legal designation that carries minimum 20-year sentences. Thanks to onboard cameras and surveillance technology, Letts said perpetrators can be easily identified and prosecuted.
“This isn’t just property damage anymore,” Letts warned. “It’s a coordinated effort to intimidate and disrupt. We’re drawing a line now before chaos erupts again.”
The conversation then shifted to a more profound crisis: widespread political corruption and financial fraud. Letts revealed that investigations are underway into members of Congress whose wealth has inexplicably skyrocketed during their time in office.
He described how some nonprofits are being used as fronts to funnel money from foreign aid back into the pockets of U.S. politicians. Initially intended for foreign assistance, these funds allegedly returned as kickbacks through board positions, salaries, and bonuses.
“There’s a distinction between waste and theft,” Letts said. “This isn’t just overspending. It’s money laundering, fraud, and felony theft from the U.S. Treasury.”
He added that President Trump has also ordered the Department of Justice and FBI to audit every member of Congress.
“We’re not guessing anymore. We have the evidence,” Letts said. “Now it’s about execution—literally serving the warrants and holding the guilty accountable.”
While Letts expressed optimism about renewed morale within the FBI and DOJ, he also acknowledged the uncertainty agents feel in a system long plagued by internal corruption. Still, he believes justice will prevail—if only to preserve the nation’s integrity.
“We can’t allow a two-tier justice system,” he said. “If you break the law, no matter who you are, you’re going to be held accountable.”
