Biden Gives Us the Bird

It’s time for us to collectively pause and silently give thanks for all that Joe Biden has given us.
There’s a good reason why those thanks are kept silent, by the way.
If your pause was extended while you tried to say something good about what this administration has done for you in the past year, this Thanksgiving Joe Biden has given us all the bird…at slightly cheaper prices than last year.
Yes, the cost of your Turkey Day dinner has actually (on average) decreased slightly since November 2022 (which set the all-time record high). If you have yet to pick up your supermarket supplies, the American Farm Bureau Federation says you can expect to pay 61 dollars and 17 cents (or about 6 dollars per person) for a family of ten. That amount is 4.5 percent less than last year, but still up 25 percent from the cost of your Thanksgiving meal during the closing days of the Trump administration.
Prices did vary by region with the Midwest paying the least for a seating of ten at just 58 dollars and 86 cents…and the northeast footing the largest bill at 64 dollars and 38 cents. Southerners paid 59 dollars 10 cents and out west they shelled out 63 dollars and 89 cents.
Shoppers are paying more this year for pumpkin pie mix and dinner rolls but making up for it with lower prices on cranberries and whipped cream.
Oh, and lest we forget, when we bow our heads to give thanks, our focus should not be on Joe Biden or any man, but on a much higher authority.
Thank you, Father…in Jesus’ name. Amen.
