He\u2019s been the target of discussion surrounding the failure to contain the ongoing migrant crisis in the United States \u2013 a problem that President Joe Biden has yet to address head-on.<\/p><p class=\"\">Speaker of the House Mike Johnson noted that Mayorkas \u201cdeserved to be impeached\u201d in a written statement.\u00a0\u201cFrom his first day in office, Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and consistently refused to comply with federal immigration laws, fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history. He has undermined public trust through multiple false statements to Congress, obstructed lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security, and violated his oath of office.\u201d<\/p><p class=\"\">That said, there\u2019s a big uphill battle in trying to get the impeachment to pass through the Senate, which is ruled by a Democratic majority.
