Anti-Gun Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Defeated (Guest: Michael Letts)

Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts explains why the ousting of the current Mayor couldn’t come soon enough for the city.

After a troublesome few years that have seen the city of Chicago become a haven for growing criminal activity, Mayor Lori Lightfoot is finally on her way out.

Lightfoot lost her bid for a second mayoral term , following an all-too-slow recovery from COVID-19, a steep increase in crime, and constant battles with both teachers’ unions and police officers.

Paul Vallas, a long-time public schools chief who was favored to take over Lightfoot’s position, will now head to the runoff in April. Lightfoot refused to fight the results, stating she is now “rooting and praying for the next mayor of Chicago.”

Could this help the city see a turnaround? With us now is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Michael serves as founder, CEO and president of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. His expertise will prove very useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. How grateful are you to see that the citizens of Chicago have had enough of Lori Lightfoot’s actions?
  2. Why do you think she fought against not only the city’s police forces, but also the teachers’ unions? Was it due to her own personal agenda? Or something else?
  3. How bad has crime gotten in Chicago? We’ve already heard about several hundred officers leaving the police force, as well as a few unfortunate suicides, which has led to overworking of remaining officers.
  4. Do you believe Vallas – or whoever will end up next in the Mayor’s chair – stand a good chance of turning around Chicago’s woes?
  5. What advice do you have for the next Mayor that will take over the city? Where should they start when it comes to rebuilding its police force and bringing down criminal activity?
  1. You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
  2. We understand that InVest USA is also actively involved with Twitter. Where can interested parties learn more?
